Under the overall layout of Damei Park, which is ecologically sustainable in Chengdu, the establishment of Shaheyuan Park, at the core of Jinjiang Green Corridor, makes up for the missing part of the current situation of the Green Corridor. The old site of Shaheyuan Park was a historic waterway hub in Chengdu. In the 1950s, thousands of drifting logs drifted into Chengdu day and night. They were stored and sold in Chengdu Wood Storage Plant at Jiulidi, Fuhe River. Beimen area developed into the largest timber distribution center and timber processing base in Chengdu.
One Ring and Three Lines, Sustainable Ecology

Shaheyuan Park is located in the old site of the building material city in the southwest of China. A large number of left-over rails and factory buildings for storing timber are refined as design elements. At the same time, the site is surrounded by Fuhe and Shahe rivers, forming a double-river-surrounded, water-surrounded River Island form, with excellent water quality and dense vegetation. It is also located in the Jinjiang Green Road Planning Zone. The establishment of Shaheyuan Park has formed a brand new and continuous urban green corridor.
According to the requirements of cultural heritage sorting and municipal planning, the design team takes wood as its origin and extends its journey to different stages of life to meet the outdoor needs of different age groups. Integrating community cultural activities, site imprinting art, ecological health education and livable waterfront life from multiple perspectives aims at creating a comprehensive park system full of vitality, multiple functions, respect for the ecology and protection of culture.
Taking timber culture as the design theme, respecting the ecology and feeling the history, extracting the life art scenes such as water and wood Huanian, wood drainage memory, flowering forest roadway, Yunting crossing bridge, and water fir levee, which are of great characteristics, exhibiting the park's natural playfulness in all seasons, reproducing the cultural memory of the site, and helping Chengdu's green water flow and vitality. New style of livable waterfront corridor.
